Professional Access

Structured professional access to public-interest reports, evidence metadata, and information trails.

For Journalists

Pro Access helps journalists work with complex public-interest submissions by presenting information as structured reports with clear timelines and context.

Material remains read-only and safeguarded, supporting responsible reporting without compromising sources or process.

  • Readable reports organised into narratives and timelines
  • Provenance metadata and integrity hashes confirming material has not changed
  • Visibility of recurring themes, locations, or subjects
  • Downloadable reports for editorial review or briefing
  • Copy permitted summaries into your own working documents
  • Private workspace within your member profile
  • Mediated requests to contact sources where permitted

Journalists do not influence review decisions or outcomes. Editorial responsibility always remains yours.

For Investigators

Pro Access allows investigators to work with submissions as structured case-style material while preserving evidential integrity.

Evidence remains immutable, with full provenance and hashed information trails.

  • Case-style reports with clear chronology and linkage
  • Hashed information trails linking related submissions
  • Full provenance metadata for contextual understanding
  • Pattern and cluster visibility across reports
  • Downloadable report packs for investigative reference
  • Auditable personal workspace
  • Controlled follow-up requests to sources where appropriate

Investigators do not rewrite evidence or determine outcomes. Original material remains immutable.

Access, tracking and chain of custody

All information submitted to Orfid enters the platform as a preserved public submission. From the moment of receipt, the system maintains an immutable record of how information is stored, accessed, and referenced.

Each submission is automatically tagged, time-stamped, and assigned provenance metadata. Cryptographic hashes are applied to preserve integrity and to ensure that material cannot be altered without detection.

  • Every submission receives a unique internal reference and integrity hash
  • All access to reports and associated material is logged and attributable
  • Viewing, downloading, and exporting actions are recorded in an access log
  • Original submissions remain read-only throughout their lifecycle
  • Related submissions may be linked through hashed information trails

The platform does not rewrite, merge, or normalise submissions in a way that obscures origin.
